‘In Our Backyard’ | The Guthrie Collective

The Guthrie Collective is a family run business that seeks to empower people living with disability and ensure everyone has equal opportunities both locally and rurally. They are passionate about supporting people through life to build capacity and achieve their goals by providing a quality, fun-filled and person-centred service.

The Guthrie Collective artists’ Carolyn Mobbs and Peter Bryant visited Unique State Art Space for the day to create new works for their contribution to In Our Backyard’ mural. They developed oil pastel and watercolour drawings inspired by local flora and fauna. Peter has recently found a passion in creating artworks of farm life and regularly attends weekly classes at The Curious Rabbit with local artist Leigh Hewitt. Peter was drawn to the rolling hills, gum trees and native bushes when creating his work. Carolyn started attending the Art Factory this year after attending a printmaking and drawing workshop over the summer. Carolyn enjoyed creating a wattle bush and swimming duck, inspired by the Wollundry Lagoon.

Participating Artists: Peter Bryant and Carolyn Mobbs
